Enterprise is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our health practice in Ottawa.

This position is a unique opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and complicated issues facing the country for many of Canada’s largest health companies, government agencies, and associations. We’re looking for a strategic thinker who is talented, motivated and ready to take on exciting work that delivers for our clients, especially in government relations.

A strong understanding of the health care system and government is a must. Previous experience working in government will be highly valued, along with a keen interest in the political process and being passionate about public policy.

In office requirements: Hybrid

Core Responsibilities:

1. Developing and advising on government engagement, public affairs, and advocacy strategies.
2. Interacting with government officials and decision-makers to build and maintain relationships.
3. Staying up-to-date on current events, politics and public policy issues in health care.
4. Running winning campaigns that bring together public policy, advocacy, media relations and/or digital elements.
5. Dealing directly with clients, coordinating meetings and ensuring projects are progressing in line with client expectations.
6. Writing briefing notes on policy and political files, press releases, digital content and speeches.
7. Creating and maintaining productive relationships with government and industry stakeholders and clients.
8. Ensuring compliance with all lobbying and ethics requirements for public affairs professionals.
9. Responding to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and developing pitches for new business opportunities.

Requirements:

1. Relevant experience in politics, government relations or public affairs.
2. Post-secondary education/equivalent experience.
3. Strong understanding of the health care system in Canada.
4. Well versed on current affairs, political actors and major public policy files in Canada.
5. A developed ability to provide strategic advice.
6. Superior writing/editing skills with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex content.
7. Demonstrated research and analytical skills.
8. Strong social and project management skills, ability to meet deadlines, delegate and prioritize deliverables.
9. Ability to manage and support client relationships.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
11. Any additional languages spoken/written or experience with research would be a significant asset.
