Job Overview:

The Senior Production Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the production discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the production discipline. The Senior Production Engineer solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Production Engineer impacts a range of customer operational project or service activities with the production team and other related teams and ensures that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Supervise discipline production engineer including identification of production engineer resource needs for the project and communication of these regularly to the Division Production.
• Understand the full contractual scope of work, contract type, and milestone schedule managing the progress and reporting on the project.
• Review constructability and ensure the work plan is based on the most productive option.
• Responsible for fabrication 4WLA including the prioritization of materials and drawings to suit and chairing the production 4WLA and forecast fabrication and engineering requirements to meet the project contract schedule.
• Responsible for initiating and approving all revisions orders and change orders ensuring incorporation into the global lessons learned database.
• Solve technical problems and initiate site queries to ensure work disruption is minimized and productivity is optimized.
• Chair the weekly project production meeting managing the projects weekly fabrication progress and productivity and ensure is within budget.
• Manage any scope of work changes and ensure AFC estimate is up to date and that revision and change orders are initiated.
• Appraise fabrication management of any project issues that affect the forecasted progress, productivity, and schedule commitments.
• Develop a work pack index and set priorities and deliverable dates for the discipline teams.
• Direct the discipline groups with all material ordering priorities and schedule dates to suit the fabrication sequence.
• Review material expediting reports and advise procurement personnel of any concerns and mitigation plans as necessary.
• Authorize technical queries/correspondence to be issued to the client.
• Direct the discipline groups with all engineering deliverable priorities to satisfy project and contractual requirements.
• Develop a project fabrication plan that satisfies the contract requirements most productively.
• Interface with other key project personnel such as project cost engineer, marine operations engineer, and quality manager.
• Lead project constructability program effort for fabrication.
• Lead the Discipline Production Engineering team (Drafting, Squad Leaders, Material Controllers, etc.) to meet project fabrication requirements.
• Manage inter/intrafunctional interfaces at the discipline level for the fabrication portion of the project with minimal guidance.
• Responsible for optimal utilization and development of the discipline team assigned on the project.
• Establish a productive working relationship with Project Superintendents & Supervisions to ensure meeting the Fabrication Targets.
• Ensure necessary documentation and compliance with procedural requirements throughout the project phases.
• Interface for discipline-level requirements with key project personnel from various functions like Engineering, SCM, Quality, Cost control, Marine Operations, etc. to meet priorities and schedule dates for project fabrication requirements.
• Attend expediting meetings to communicate material delivery priorities, review, and communicate Marine deliverables requirements to meet fabrication plan/sequence.
• Manage discipline level project fabrication progress within schedule and productivity within targeted budget in coordination with project Operations Engineer.
• Support project Operation Engineer to manage inter/intrafunctional interfaces and project reporting requirements like AFC estimate review, subcon coordination, project status reporting, developing fabrication sequence, conducting constructability reviews, etc.
• Lead project constructability reviews on a discipline level including resolution of construction problems with intra/inter function interfaces.
• Understand the overall project scope of work to lead and guide the discipline production engineering team to meet project fabrication deliverables in line with the fabrication sequence/schedule.
• Support the Fabrication Bid coordination efforts on assigned Bid projects supporting the Fab Bid Coordinator.
• Lead the Discipline Production Engineering team (Drafting, Squad Leaders, Material Controllers, etc.) to meet project fabrication requirements.
• Technically capable of strategizing and delivering discipline-level fabrication efforts for complex EPIC projects.
• Manage inter/intrafunctional interfaces at the discipline level for the fabrication portion of the project with minimal guidance.
• Responsible for optimal utilization and development of the discipline team assigned to the project.
• Understand the overall project scope of work to lead and guide the discipline production engineering team to meet project fabrication deliverables in line with the fabrication sequence/schedule.
• Manage discipline level project fabrication progress within schedule and productivity within targeted budget in coordination with project Operations Engineer.
• Support project Operation Engineer in managing inter/intrafunctional interfaces and project reporting requirements like AFC estimate review, subcon coordination, project status reporting, developing fabrication sequence, conducting constructability reviews, etc.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• 5 years offshore and Petrochemical Industry.
• Expertise in production engineering and optimization techniques.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities.
• Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large-scale projects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools related to production engineering.
• Technically capable of strategizing and delivering discipline-level fabrication efforts for complex EPIC projects.
